1): Purpose & Scope of Policy
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") defines the permitted and prohibited use of all web hosting, reseller hosting, VPS, root servers, and network services offered by HostLegio.
By registering an account, purchasing any plan, or accessing HostLegio's network infrastructure, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to adhere strictly to this Policy. This document forms an integral part of your binding agreement with us, along with our Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy, and Refund Policy.
2): General Usage & Client Accountability
HostLegio services may only be utilized for lawful, ethical, and authorized hosting purposes. As the primary account holder, you bear full legal and administrative responsibility for all activities occurring under your hosting account. This accountability includes, but is not limited to:
- Hosted Content: All text, graphics, images, media files, code, and databases published or stored within your hosting directories.
- Applications & Scripts: All CMS frameworks, plugins, web applications, and custom scripts installed under your account credentials.
- Visitor Activity: All user interactions, upload forms, forum posts, and data transfers generated by visitors to your hosted web properties.
- Reseller Sub-Accounts: If you operate a Reseller or Master Reseller account, you are solely responsible for enforcing AUP compliance across all sub-accounts created under your subscription.
3): Prohibited Content, Scripts & Software
To protect the integrity, speed, and safety of our servers, the following platforms, tools, scripts, and content types are strictly forbidden on HostLegio servers at all times:
- Malware, Trojans, Keyloggers, Ransomware, Spyware, or Backdoor Shells.
- Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) or content exploiting minors.
- Phishing pages, spoofed landing templates, or credential harvesting scripts.
- Pirated software (warez), cracked null files, or copyrighted media distribution.
- Proxy services, anonymizers, or traffic-masking scripts (including Shadowsocks).
- IRC servers, IRC bots, or automated IRC communication daemons.
- Cryptocurrency mining software or background virtual currency miners.
- Autosurf, Paid-To-Click (PTC), Pay-Per-Click (PPC), or traffic exchange hubs.
- IP scanners, port scanners, brute-force crackers, or network probing utilities.
- Bulk SMS gateway scripts or anonymous mass-messaging platforms.
- Unlicensed gambling, illegal sports betting, or unverified financial debenture schemes.
- High-Yield Investment Programs (HYIP), Ponzi platforms, or multi-level pyramid schemes.
- Commercial audio/video streaming servers consuming sustained high CPU/bandwidth.
- Live broadcasting of copyrighted sporting events or protected television channels.
Hosting any of the above prohibited materials will result in immediate service termination without prior notice or refund.
4): Email Usage & Anti-Spam Policy
Email services provided with hosting plans are intended strictly for routine, legitimate business correspondence. HostLegio maintains a zero-tolerance policy against spam, unsolicited bulk email (UBE), and mail server reputation abuse.
- Unsolicited Mass Mailing: Sending marketing, promotional, or bulk emails to recipients who have not explicitly opted in.
- Shared Hosting Email Limits: Outbound emails on shared servers are capped at a maximum of 500 emails per hour per domain to prevent IP blacklisting.
- Cold Outreach & List Renting: Purchased email lists, rented contact databases, or unverified cold outreach marketing campaigns are prohibited.
- Mail Bots & Headers: Forging email headers, spoofing sender identity, or deploying mail-bombing scripts will lead to instant mail port blocking.
5): Network Security & Anti-DDoS Policy
Zero Tolerance for Network Exploits: Any attempt to probe, scan, or breach the security of HostLegio's network, upstream data centers, or external third-party servers is strictly forbidden.
- Launching, participating in, or relaying Denial-of-Service (DoS) or Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attacks.
- Operating botnet Command and Control (C2) servers or botnet client scripts.
- Sending corrupted network packets, exploiting TCP/UDP protocols, or conducting unauthorized port sweeps.
- Using HostLegio infrastructure as an intermediary relay for malicious attacks against external networks.
6): Resource Usage & Fair Hosting Standards
Hosting resources—including CPU cycles, memory (RAM), disk I/O operations, and network bandwidth—must be consumed fairly and responsibly to prevent degradation of performance for neighboring accounts on shared infrastructure.
- No Storage Dumps: Storing off-site backup archives, personal file dumps, video repositories, or non-web files in web directories is not allowed.
- Background Daemons: Running persistent background daemons, standalone servers, or un-throttled cron jobs that consume over 25% CPU for longer than 90 seconds is prohibited.
- Database Optimization: Databases must be properly indexed. Un-optimized SQL queries generating continuous high disk read/write locks will be rate-limited.
7): Account Security Obligations
Account security is a shared responsibility. Clients are required to maintain strict security protocols to prevent unauthorized access and malware infection:
- Strong Credentials: Utilize complex, unique passwords for client portal, cPanel/WHM, FTP, and database accounts.
- CMS Software Patches: Keep core CMS software (WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, etc.), themes, and plugins updated to their latest secure releases.
- Removal of Abandoned Scripts: Promptly delete unused test installations, outdated plugins, and unmaintained scripts.
8): System Monitoring & Security Inspection
To maintain server health, safeguard all hosted clients, and comply with legal requirements, HostLegio reserves the right to monitor system logs, network traffic patterns, and server file directories.
Automated security scanners continuously check hosting accounts for known malware signatures, vulnerability exploits, and unauthorized backdoors. By using our services, you consent to automated monitoring and security audits.
9): Abuse Reporting & Resolution SLAs
HostLegio investigates all abuse complaints diligently. If you discover any website hosted on our network engaging in policy violations, malware distribution, phishing, or copyright infringement, please submit a formal report:

All abuse submissions are reviewed within 24 working hours, and necessary containment measures are initiated promptly.
10): Enforcement Protocol, Suspension & Termination
In the event of an AUP violation, HostLegio will take enforcement action proportionate to the severity of the offense:
- Formal Warning: Issued for minor, non-critical policy breaches with a 24-hour remediation deadline.
- Harmful Content Removal: Instant deletion or quarantine of infected files, phishing scripts, or illegal content.
- Service Suspension: Temporary locking of the hosting account to contain active security risks or resource abuse.
- Immediate Termination: Severe violations—such as malware distribution, DDoS attacks, phishing, or CSAM—result in instant account cancellation without notice or refund.
11): Policy Modifications & Binding Version
HostLegio reserves the right to modify, update, or revise this Acceptable Use Policy at any time without prior individual notice. Revisions take effect immediately upon publication on this page.
